Washington D.C.
"I can just pray from my closet and the prayer room, Lord, right?" I asked Him after a powerful invitation was extended for a million Esthers to gather together at the National Mall to pray on October 12, 2024.
Somehow I had begin to succumb to the false idea that it didn't matter if my feet were on the ground or not. It almost sounded super spiritual too. Then I began to reason in my mind all the reasons why I should not go, with the number one reason being the fact that it's expensive to travel to D.C. The Lord had sent me on assignment to D.C. three times prior. I will not divulge the missions or assignments He sent me on because I prefer to keep my treasure in heaven with my Father who sees in secret and rewards. Anyhow, I took it to the Lord. If He calls me to a place, I will go; and even in the midst of invitations, I prayerfully seek Him on which ones to accept.
After prayerful consideration, I booked my flight and tiny Airbnb in faith that He would provide. As I booked everything, I felt the Lord telling me that I would not be going alone. Thankfully, everything was refundable, but I began to ask Him who I was to take with me this time. Over the past many years of following the voice of the Lord I have made very selective personal invitations from those who the Lord brought into my life that are open to what the Spirit is doing and very aware of the spiritual atmosphere. That being said, even the mature have blindspots (including MYSELF) and we unfortunately did not always discern our own weaknesses which led to fractured relationships. The enemy has stolen much, however, I know the blood of Jesus Christ is GREATER at redeeming and restoring dead and broken things and so there is always hope. Anyhow, He made it clear that I needed to book a large house and that He would fill the rooms.
"Yikes! A large house- that's a lot of money, but okay, Lord." I thought.
Oh me of little faith I'm sure He thought. He is always stretching me in my trust and obedience. I found a house that could sleep up to 12 while remaining within reasonable distance to the Mall. It was a bit out of budget so I reached out and told them what I could afford. Within minutes they accepted my offer! This doesn't happen to me ever. I praised the Father for His provision as several beautiful people reached out wanting to help with expenses for the trip. God's timing is perfect! While witnessing to a neighbor he told me the house was only recently finished and was valued at over 1.2 million dollars! CRAZY! It would have cost us more to get a hotel room and we were truly set up like Queen Esther.
The day of the event the woman of the house agreed to join the fast as we gathered on the Mall to intercede on behalf of our nation. From the moment we found a parking spot, we could see believers all throughout the busy streets marching to the distant sound of drums and instruments carried on the air. Excitement filled our spirits. Suddenly, I felt the importance of why the Lord wanted my feet on the ground alongside my four children. We were standing amongst women of all ages, from the elderly to the infant to those still in their mother's womb. I had asked the Lord, "Will there be 1 million women?" He responded with a vision of a woman pregnant with a girl. There stood three generations of women. The female infant in utero was already carrying all the eggs she would ever have as a woman and thus the future generation was already within her womb as she was being formed in her mother's womb! SO AMAZING! So the short answer is, "YES."
The worship and prayer was beyond powerful. Praying for Israel was another highlight. We felt it was equally as important to pray for them as it was to pray for America. I was surprised to meet woman from around the world interceding on behalf of America. Women who had been on assignment from the King of kings and Lord of lords- laid down lovers of Christ Jesus. An army of Daughters with thunder in their steps. IT WAS POWERFUL.
As for the rest of the trip- we spent over 40 hours on the road in a van the Lord provided. There were many divine encounters, divine assignments, many prayers said over the people the Lord directed into our path. We got to see beloved old faces and make acquaintance with new ones. We took the ground we walked upon and the enemy was placed as the footstool of Jesus Christ. The Lord was glorified in it all.
